National Policy on Rare Diseases 2021

All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Jodhpur has been designated CoE Rare Diseases in October 2022.

The strengths of the center are:

• Location in the center of Rajasthan, the largest state in the country
• Rare diseases attendance in the OPD- about 20-25 patients per day with OPD running on six days per week.
• A systematic flow of patients in Pediatrics as well as referral from and out of the Institute
• Well developed Laboratory with support of DBT UMMID Project
• Ongoing training program- DM Medical Genetics and 1 year PGD Genetic Counseling
• Well developed fetal medicine and Prenatal diagnostic services
• Collaborations with multiple departments
