(Scabies Prevention And Relevance of Sanitation & Hygiene) Initiative
The Sparsh Initiative demonstrates the effectiveness of a comprehensive approach in reducing scabies prevalence and promoting hygiene practices among tribal adolescents. This Sparsh Initiative targets scabies in tribal schools and hostels in Sirohi, Rajasthan. This MDA was provided by experts from the Department of Dermatology, along with a medical officer and the Satellite Tribal Centre team.
Sustainability Measures:
WhatsApp group comprising Tribal Area Development (TAD) representatives and administration members to facilitate effective communication and coordination for program implementation.
All students undergo MDA using Sparsh kits under wardens’ supervision on a designated day.
Follow-up with clothes washing to eliminate remaining mites and ensure thorough hygiene practices.
