Hub and Spoke Model (Last-Mile Delivery of Healthcare Services)
Due to the hilly terrain and limited infrastructure, several villages like Nichalagarh (the proposed village) in Abu Road block have limited accessibility to healthcare facilities.
Telemedicine implementation at Health and Wellness Centres in this village (spokes) is linked with the Satellite Centre for Tribal Health and Research AIIMS Jodhpur (Hubs) to help address the shortage of doctors and other healthcare professionals, as telemedicine enables access to super-specialist services from hubs to patients in inaccessible, hard-to-reach tribal areas.
The center of this spoke (Nichalagarh HWC) is utilized as another connector for hilly terrain villages to the hub (STHR AIIMS Jodhpur).
- Due to network issues in the periphery, patients from other villages attend Nichalagarh HWC (spoke) daily (Monday-Wednesday) from 10 am to 1 pm for their health needs.
- The assigned healthcare worker conducts telemedicine from the Satellite Centre and is trained at STHR for teleconsultation services.
- For referral cases, a unique yellow card is provided at the spoke for free clinical examination at STHR and AIIMS Jodhpur
